Stepping into Q2

In 2025, we've already stepped into Q2 and we're stepping into a new business wardrobe and 'what to wear to work' isn't just about the clothes that you put on for the day, but it's about how you show up. Let's be honest, we're all still adjusting. I know I definitely am. The business wardrobe of today needs to be congruous to the realities of the world we live in today; a mixed origin blend of survival mode, ambition and growth and the hope to stay grounded and mindful.

This year, the 'sharpest' look in the room is a well thought-out plan of action. Professionals aren't just curating outfits but their approach and as much as we've had reactivity in the past, we understand that reactivity served us, it has had its time, but the new fashion is dressing the thinking well, dressing the thoughts for battle. This year's business wardrobe has already been about knowing your value, designing proactive approaches, tailoring your next moves and emotionally armouring and concealing the fatigue, the unshakeable feelings of urgency yet frustration, the ever-present need for clarity. People are noticing tone and timings and decisions. Strategy has become a powerful statement of commitment, purpose and values and how you move through the world. Strategy affords consistency and how to implement it. In 2025, we're not looking for a mismatch of execution.

Confidence as an understated piece

Understated pieces have become confidence and letting the results speak for themselves. Are we seeing the fall in trends of 'grind' culture and what we've understood as hustle has taken a refresh? Minimalism is in. Yet, less is more is not about doing less work, it's about precision. Stripping away distractions and unnecessary features. Finding the simplicity in honesty and removing the gimmicks of what it means to 'be in business'. Why it's fashionable this year is because it's the difference between fine-tuning and just noise. It's the definition of less blank spaces, more meaning. It's intentional and it's quality over quantity.

Our timeless piece for 2025 has become sustainability. It's sexy. We're looking at values, ethics, transparency and honesty. The more authentic we are to ourselves and continue to work with people who align with us, the more people notice. It's about creating cultures that people want to stay in, looking after ourselves and our community around us emotionally and mentally and energetically. If we're working on projects that don't align with us, it shows on our exterior and we have to remind ourselves that if we burn out, the business inevitably will. Sustainability means that we're building impact and we're being deliberate and considerate about who it is that we're for and how it is that we're showing up. Sustainability is about wearing our refined selves, how it's made is exactly how it looks.

What's fashionable in business is design that forms communication, not just decoration in a professional sense.

Our smart accessories are the tools we use and just how much they're a part of our professional presentation. Using incompatible software can feel like wearing sunglasses inside. Messages we're trying to avoid are "can you resend the link", "is there another way I can do that?" "do I have to do it like that?". The fashion statement is a solutions-focused outcome, we want to improve people's experiences and maintain clarity and communication. Our tools we use should be seen as our desktop partners that help us streamline and help us work more efficiently, not gimmicks that feel like main characters. In 2025, what's fashionable in business is design that forms communication, not just decoration in a professional sense.

Make mistakes, make connections, overcome challenges.

Last but not least, we have emotional intelligence as high fashion in business. When we wear our best listening ears, we're set way above AI and generic brands. 2025 has been all about cutting through the noise and people are looking for brands and businesses that actually hear you. That's what speaks to them. In a rapidly growing landscape of tech and innovation that's altering and changing business conduct, people are looking to other people who understand. In 2025, emotional intelligence is no longer considered a soft skill, it's very much a core skill. People are looking for dialogue and transparency and despite the gold rush of AI and the skyscraping vision of tech and silicone valley type businesses, what's trending in 2025 is authenticity and being human. Make mistakes, make connections, overcome challenges. What's fashionable in this year's business wardrobe is growth, relationships and connection. We don't just want flawless end solutions, the trendsetter for 2025 is trust and that's through collaboration and the journey that helps us reach our destinations.
